Slept in this morning from my typical 430/5 am and slept until close to 7. The air was cool with a light breeze and Dustin and I enjoyed our morning coffees on the porch.
After reading on the porch and doing my pilates we ventured to get ready for the day and went estate sale shopping.
To me yard, garage and estate sales much like antiquing and flea markets set the scene for a good day where you get to marvel at other people’s items and take what was once treasured and change it to something else or give it a new home after some TLC.
Sundays are mostly spent not trying to think of the work week ahead and I have enjoyed trying to push work out of my mind as it takes me time to not stress amd be present.
Dustin is good at allowing me the time to balance and I think he gets happiness out of watching me get excited trying a new craft or seeing something I never saw before with my new practice of “presence.”
Its hard to take time for myself when I am empathetic a d enjoy helping others but it has taken its toll. While I love my rewarding job I forget to take care of myself which leaves me exhausted. Something everyone does regardless of.your career field.
So Sundays I used to feel the doom around the corner and now I feel aware of Monday being hours away but take the time to feel the sun, enjoy the birds and the minutes and hours I get to spend with my loved ones and myself.
Sundays are for slowing down and reminding yourself why you get up each day.
